No-Knead Bread

Do you love bread? I mean, really, really, love bread? I have a true bread lover living in my household. Most days, she goes by the name "Aisling", but on days like today we call her bread girl. Why the difference today, you ask? Because fresh bread was baked today! With heavenly home-baked aromas wafting throughout the house, bread girl (a.k.a. Aisling) could hardly concentrate on anything else. So, in between math, grammar, Spanish, and penmanship, I was peppered with questions like, "Is it done yet?", "Is it done now ?", "How much longer?", "Are you sure it's not done yet?", and finally, "When will it really be done, then?!" Finally, the loaf came out of the oven, to the joy of all within the house. (Alas, I can hear her crunching joyfully on her 2nd or 3rd piece as I type, so I better type quickly before it's all gone!) This was my first attempt at any type of bread outside of a bread pan, and I'm thrille...

The Bathroom

Okay. So I finished the bathroom. But I'm not posting full pictures of it, because of the following reasons: 1. In my haste and ambition to get it done, I never took "before" pictures. I didn't think anyone wanted to see the "painted dirt" patterns (who washes the walls before they paint? Hair, dirt, excess Spackle and mud...just paint over it! ), the paint splashed fixtures and hardware, the red-brown nicotine streaks from the bleeding walls, the mold blooms growing around the ceiling molding, etc. YUCK! Who really wants to remember or see that? In hindsight, having "before" pictures would have made me feel better about the finished product, no matter how it turned out. 2. Although mint green and cream seemed like a great idea to make my bathroom feel fresh and bright, I should have thought harder about what effects the paint finish and lighting would have on the color. Mint green would have been beautiful in a flat, eggshell, or even satin finish...
